Woodland Acres Bible Camp

A Christian ministry where Jesus Christ is central and the Word of God is foundational

About Us

Mid-America Mission, Inc.

In April 1958, Leonard Felton and five other men knelt and prayed for God’s leading and provision to reach the lost in mid America. That night, plans were initiated, and the mission was formed. Ministry efforts in the Springfield, Branson, Missouri area, and Harrison Arkansas area was growing rapidly. The Anderson family donated 12 acres of forest land near Green Forest AR., in 1963. MAM began building it’s office on the site and moved the headquarters of MAM from downtown Green Forest to this wooded area 5 miles east of Green Forest in August 1964. Later two more acres were acquired which has the shop, missionary house and Felton Gym. After the blessing of God, and considerable growth, the mission began developing the remaining acres into what is now Woodland Acres Bible Camp. The first camp was held in tents on the grounds in 1967. The camp today has 16 camp-related buildings and can accommodate up to 190 campers.

Prison Ministry & Sonrise Mailbox Club

In 2001, the ministry expanded into the local detentions center in Carroll County.  We have been able to reach hundreds of inmates every year and have heard of many salvations.   We have had several inmates go though our Sonrise Mailbox Club Bible Lesson ministry and in the process have created and modified advanced lessons in systematic theology and in depth lessons in the Old and New Testament .

Woodland Acres Bible Camp

Starting on June 5th, 1967, it has become a traditional camp setting with 10 air-conditioned and heated bunkhouse type cabins with attached bathrooms, that sleep up to 170 campers. There are 4 guest cabins with facilities including linens and towels (sleep 4-5 each). There are 7 full hook-up RV pads – up to 45′.  The chapel is a great setting for worship in song and in the Word of God. The fully enclosed gym has a full-size basketball and volleyball court, game rooms, and craft room/kitchenette. An outdoor basketball court also hosts two Ga-Ga Ball pits. Wi-Fi is available. AND, of course, what would summer fun be without swimming?  Campers of all ages enjoy our 9′ deep swimming pool with diving board, slide and a basketball hoop while in season.  Check out the yummy snacks and drinks, gifts, and books at THE OASIS, and great food at meal times in the dining hall.  Enjoy a quiet prayer time or a time of devotion in the new Mills Memorial Prayer Gazebo.

WABC strongly encourages and promotes campers, individuals, and families to grow in their walk with Jesus Christ through reading the Bible and by being accountable in the area of a Bible course ministry.  The Sonrise Club, a free Bible lesson ministry of WABC, will provide the much-needed help in this rapid growing area of spreading the gospel and developing strong Christians.

Camp is a great place to get away from all the distractions of life – radio, TV, phones, jobs – and get alone with God.  In the peaceful serene setting of WABC, people make life-changing decisions in regard to their relationship with Jesus Christ.  The peace of WABC allows for quiet reflection into the heart.  God has used this facility for over 55 years in the areas of evangelism, Christian growth, and re-dedication of children, youth, and adults.
